The investment volume for the hotel development is a mid-double-digit Euro amount. benchmark. expects the Super8 on Brammenring to be complete in the second quarter of 2019. The hotel will be operated by GS Star GmbH from Augsburg.
"The city, and particularly the area around Oberhausen Neue Mitte, has developed very positively in recent years. This is also thanks to constructive cooperation between the city and private investors," says Martin Hantel, managing partner of benchmark. "Attractions, such as Centro, Sea Life, the KöPi-Arena and the Gasometer draw almost 30 million visitors a year and make Oberhausen an appealing hotel location."
Oberhausen's mayor, Daniel Schranz, sees cause to rejoice on two counts. "On the one hand, our Neue Mitte district will further boost its profile as Europe's biggest urban entertainment centre, thereby sustaining the now tangible dynamic in our city. Added to this, I am naturally also delighted with the praise we have received from investors for the excellent cooperation with the council, as well as with our departments for business and tourism development."
benchmark. will develop the around 3,000 m²-large site with a property accommodating a gross floor area of around 5,200 m². A total of 156 rooms are to be created at the location in the direct vicinity of the Centro shopping centre. The Super8-Hotel will be aimed at both tourists and business travellers. Features of the hotel will include high-speed internet access, a 40-inch smart-TV, underfloor heating in the bathroom, live cooking during breakfast, and a coffee shop in the lobby..
Two new restaurants are to be developed directly next to the hotel location. The steakhouse, The ASH, and the Asian restaurant, Xiao, will provide an additional culinary choice for future hotel guests.
