A good 150 rooms are to be created with a gross floor area of around 5,000 m².
In addition, the proposals foresee around 30 car parking spaces in an underground car park. The operator will be the HR Group, based in Berlin. Aparthotels Adagio, a joint venture between the hotel operator, AccorHotels, and the Pierre & Vacances Center Parcs Group, is currently represented in Berlin, Cologne, Frankfurt and Munich.
"An Adagio access is perfect for Freiburg. The offering is aimed, among others, at business travellers who also plan to stay at one location for several days. The apartment hotel's close proximity to the trade fair complex, in particular, is a major advantage here. Of course, families will also be able to find offers to cater for their needs," says Götz U. Hufenbach, managing partner of benchmark.
The apartment hotel will offer studios and apartments for short and longer stays. Besides breakfast and cleaning services, the guests will enjoy the benefits of a fully-fitted kitchen and free Wi-Fi. The apartments range in size from 20 m² to 31 m². Some of those on offer will be designed for use by three to four occupants. With this, the apartment hotel is aimed at both business customers and tourists.
With the Adagio access development, the former Freiburg freight depot site continues to take shape. The apartment hotel is favourably located for transport links, just 1.5 km from the city centre. It will blend into the new city district with revitalised, listed buildings, as well as newly developed residential and commercial units.
