Germany: benchmark. hands over Adagio access in Freiburg
Frankfurt am Main, 24.08.2021. The first Adagio access hotel has opened in Freiburg, a city in southern Germany. Developer benchmark. REAL Estate (benchmark.), has handed over the hotel property at Eugen-Martin-Strasse 1 to the operator, the Berlin-based HR Group. benchmark. has invested around 20 million euros in the project.
The aparthotel comprises a gross floor area of around 5,000 m² and 153 rooms. Rooms are between 18 to 32 m², designed for up to four people and equipped with a compact kitchen. The Adagio access is also attracting guests, who are planning an extended stay. It offers additional services such as the "minimarket", a hotel-owned shop for snacks, ready meals, drinks and drugstore items.
Götz U. Hufenbach, managing partner of benchmark. REAL Estate, says: "These are challenging time for the hotel industry. In the medium term, however, there are good reasons for the market to recover. Freiburg is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Germany and the local economy is robust. Locations like Freiburg could even benefit from rising demand in the long term due to an increase in domestic tourism."
