Dresden: benchmark. hands over Super 8 hotel
Duisburg/Dresden, 12.07.2019 – Following a construction period of 14 months, benchmark.
REAL Estate GmbH (benchmark.) has completed and handed over the first Super 8 by
Wyndham in Dresden. The hotel at Antonstrasse 45 was opened by the operator, Primestar
Hospitality, directly after handover. benchmark. invested around 10 million Euro in the project
and had already sold the property to Union Investment. The object was part of a portfolio
transaction completed in 2018.
The Super 8 hotel accommodates 176 rooms appointed with Smart TVs, underfloor heating
and high-speed internet. Other facilities available to guests include a large breakfast room with
show kitchen, a coffee shop, a bar, and a terrace. In addition, they can explore the capital city
of Saxony free of charge on one of the hotel's courtesy bicycles. With its modern fit-out and
central location in Dresden's Neustadt district, the economy-lifestyle hotel should be equally
appealing to both business travellers and tourists.
Martin Hantel, managing partner of benchmark., says: "Hotels with high quality standards and
comparatively low room rates are very much in demand among hotel guests. We still see a
great deal of potential for this product in many Germany cities, as well as associated
opportunities, particularly for institutional investors."
